Spurs agreed to transfer the midfielder to Leicester over the weekend, with Skipp eager to play regularly this season.
Leicester will pay Tottenham a fixed cost of £20 million for Skipp, with an additional £5 million in add-ons potentially bringing the total to £25 million.
Tottenham, on the other hand, could benefit even more from Skipp’s transfer in the future.
Spurs have included a sell-on clause in their deal with Leicester, which means they might profit from Skipp’s next move.
The level of the sell-on clause is unknown, but it follows a trend of clubs including such clauses in player exits. For example, Liverpool included a sell-on clause in Fabio Carvalho’s move to Brentford and are also including one in Bobby Clark’s move to Red Bull Salzburg. The Reds received £65 million from Tottenham for Dominic Solanke due to a sell-on clause negotiated with Bournemouth.
